The F. Scott Fitzgerald Literary Festival’s three major values are to honor, enhance, and support the ongoing literary tradition in Montgomery County, Maryland, and beyond. Join us in celebrating the past and future of literary excellence. Learn who our prestigious past honorees were, see who’s on our dedicated festival committee, and peruse the history of the festival.

Honor

We honor the works of F. Scott Fitzgerald, as well as other literary icons and prominent modern American fiction writers, poets, playwrights, screenwriters, and other authors and artists.

Enhance

We enhance the literary arts by conducting an annual festival day and other events that include seminars, lectures, and other educational activities promoting the written word.

Empower

We empower, support, encourage, and assist aspiring and emerging writers and students interested in the literary arts, in part by sponsoring a short story contest.
